Who is JBRF?

Honoring the legacy of Jane Bancroft Robinson, JBRF is a foundation dedicated to dismantling systemic racism and reducing the health and economic disparities that disproportionately affect Black women living East of the Anacostia River. Our foundation is centered on community members’ voices and shifts power and resources to them so they can design solutions that improve racial equity, health, and employment outcomes for Black women living East of the River. We aim to be a true partner with the community by engaging in an inclusive approach to philanthropy.
Focus Areas
In collaboration with Sibley Memorial Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and various community-based organizations, we seek to help Black women living East of the River improve their cancer outcomes.
We are committed to advancing economic equity for Black women living East of the River by increasing their access to a workforce ecosystem that provides a sustainable career trajectory within health-related careers.
We believe that the key to transformative outcomes is to work in deep partnership with the community. We co-create and fund solutions to enhance economic mobility and reduce cancer mortality rates.
