SustainABLE Community Initiatives

SustainABLE Community Initiatives (SCI)

Through our SustainABLE Community Initiatives (SCI), we aim to invest in strengthening the East of the Anacostia River community. Our goal is to expand access to health care careers, support nonprofit leaders, and build a strong nonprofit ecosystem by working with residents, organizations, and local leaders. The core focus is on health and wellness, economic mobility, and capacity building & technical assistance.

Health Equity and Opportunity Initiatives
(HEO)

HEO improves the health and economic well-being of Black women East of the Anacostia River by working in deep partnership with local organizations, health systems, and city-wide coalitions. We prioritize reducing cancer mortality and helping Black women advance in an array of health-related careers in hospital and/or health care settings, spanning from clinical to support roles.
